SRI Aghor Vaishnava Sampradaya

JAI Jagannath JAi Aghor
SRI AGHORA VAISHNAVA SAMPRADAYA

What is the goal of SRI AGHORA VAISHNAVA SAMPRADAYA?

To Re-awaken Avadhuta consciousness and from that platform everything is clear. When all dualities of this world are transcended and no feelings of disgust remains then and only then our relationship with the omnipresent Lord will be realised.

With care and undivided dedication, the devotees of this Sampradaya have sought to revive, restore, and preserve the ancient tradition Sri AGHORA VAISHNAVA

The traditional definition of Aghor is Avadhuta, someone who is completely absorbed in meditation and devotion to God, seeing God within all beings within everything and in all of creation without discrimination . Aghora is also a traditional name Of Lord Narasimha.

The Ishta or main Deity of SRI  Aghora VAISHNAVA SAMPRADAYA is Jagannath "Lord of the universe" Vasudeva “He who pervades and sports” Sri Aghor VAISHNAVA SAMPRADAYA is founded on the universal principles of Avadhut consciousness. Lord Shiva is our Adi Guru or original teacher and patron Deity. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam!

Sri Aghora VAISHNAVA Sampradaya is a branch of Aghora based on the tradition of Bhakti (devotion) and Vaishnavaism. Aghora was first founded by Lord Shiva the greatest amongst Vaishnavas the devotees of Sri Hari, Narayana, Krishna, Rama, Narasimha, Anantasesha and all the incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Thus Sri Aghoris are Rudranugas followers in the footsteps of Rudra (Shiva).

According to legend the pastime of Aghora manifested after Shiva in the form of Bhairava beheaded Brahmadeva to protect the honor of Sri Hari. According to this legend the Lord of all beings Sri Hari once asked Brahmadeva in the presence of Shiva: Who is the supreme Lord of all beings? Brahmadeva answered that he himself (Brahmadeva) is the supreme being. Lord Shiva became very angry and cut off one of Brahmadeva's heads to punish him for the offense. Afterwards he dedicated himself to repentance and performed severe austerities at cremation grounds in Kashi to atone for the sin of Brahmahatya (murdering a Brahmana) and begged with the skull-bowl of Brahmadeva's decapitated head.

Repentance is a very important part of Aghora, without it there cannot be Aghora.

To be a follower of Shiva the Lord of Aghoris means to be a follower of the greatest amongst the Vaishnavas. Thus this is the revival of the original tradition of Aghor and its true Sampradaya once lost in time.
Our lineage has it's roots in Gaudiya Vaishnava Shyamanandi parivara and Kinaram Aghor sampradaya.

The philosophy of Vaishnava Aghora is based on the concept of Dvaita-advaita, distinction within non distinction, duality in nonduality. The qualitative and quantitative eternal difference between the marginal living being and God who is beyond the living being but simultaneously is omnipresent, omnipotent and the silent witness within everyone, the source and generator of everything that exists. Jai Aghor!

Founder & Aghoracharya

Lord Shiva gave the initial instructions to our founding Acharya, Baba Totagopinath Das Suryasu Ram to begin the revival of this ecstatic approach to devotional service; which Baba Totagopinath Das Suryasu Ram initially rejected. it was only after his godbrother Gopal Das Babaji insisted that he give diksha and siksha in this Vaishnavaghori Panth, did he begin to consider it more seriously. after spending so many years in Vrindavan as the humble disciple of Sri Sri 108 Hridayananda Das Babaji & taking his blessings, Baba Totagopinath Das Suryasu Ram went to Varanasi on his quest for Aghora .Baba Totagopinath Das Suryasu Ram eventually found himself as the disciple of Babaji Anil Ram Aghori of the Kinaram lineage. Babaji Anil Ram Aghori would go onto grant our Acharya Aghori Diksha and give his blessing as well to this Sri Aghor Vaishnava Panth.

Sri Aghor Vaishnava Sampradaya is very closely associated with two larger sects of Hinduism due to their influence & authorization of this Panth, namely, the Kinaram Sampradaya of Varanasi & the Shyamananda Sampradaya of Vrindavan

"Fault finding is the only so called problem in the drama. It creates dualities that captivates us in the world of the mind. But in reality it doesn't exist because it is an illusion. When the impartial freedom fighters called Aghoris behold the world they are not affected by such things that are disturbed to others, but can with a good laughter allow themselves peace of mind and joy without interruption , either alone or with others wherever they are"by Totagopinath Das Suryasu Ram

Sharada Tilak Tantram says:
"Dvadasharno mahamantrah pradhano Vaishnavagame"—
The twelve lettered mantra is the chief among vaishnava mantras.
Similarly, this is the ultimate mantra in Shrimad Bhagavatam. This twelve syllable mantra is known as a Mukti (liberation) mantra and a spiritual formula for attaining freedom. The mantra can also be found in the Vishnu Purana.
Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya
It means, I bow to Lord Vasudeva.

Mahamantra & Kali Yuga

HARE KRSNA HARE KRSNA KRSNA KRSNA HARE HARE HARE RAMA HARE RAMA RAMA RAMA HARE HARE

"In this age of quarrel and hypocrisy the only means of deliverance is chanting the holy name of the Lord. There is no other way.”-Brhan Naradiya Purana

"This mantra, consisting of 16 words and 32 syllables, is the only means against evil in this age. After searching through all the Vedic literature, one cannot find a method of religion more sublime for the age of Kali than the chanting of Hare Krsna."Kali Santarana Upanishad

Radha said: Gazing at Krishna's dark handsomeness, Shiva became attached to Him. Giving up all normal happiness, Shiva now walks and runs about like a madman, wearing matted hair, drinking poison, covered with ashes and decorated with snakes and skulls.- Garga Samhita 2.18.23

Param Guru Baba Anil Ram Aghori

Such renunciation in devotional service means to give up all kinds of social customs and religious rituals governed by Vedic injunction."Narada Bhakti Sutra 1.8

Shiva said: O Narada, O brahmana, I do not see any end to the pious credits attained by they who, taking shelter of Lord Vishnu’s lotus feet, with devotion hear, chant, or remember these thousand names of Lord Vishnu every day, a hundred times, twenty times, five times, only once or whenever they wish. They bring the supremely blissful Personality of Godhead under their control. This is because the holy name is the supreme sacred place. The holy name is the supreme Deity. The holy name is the supreme austerity. The holy name is the Supreme gift. The holy name is the supreme pious deed. The holy name is the supreme religion. The holy name is the supreme wealth. O best of brahmanas, the holy name is the desire of the devotees. The holy name is their final liberation. The holy name is the way they who are filled with yearnings may attain their wishes. The holy name is the supreme devotional service. The holy name is the supreme destination. The holy name is the supreme mantra. The holy name is the supreme prayer. The holy name is the wealth of they who have no material desires. The holy name gives sense gratification and liberation. The holy name is the supreme happiness. The holy name is the catalyst that brings renunciation. The holy name purifies the heart. The holy name gives transcendental knowledge. The holy name gives liberation to they who yearn for liberation. The holy name fulfils all the desires of they who yearn for sense pleasures. The holy name is the final result attained by the devotees. Therefore one should always remember the holy name. Whether spoken as a joke, in mockery, in a cry of pain, or to call someone by name, the holy name of the Supreme Lord removes all sins. A sinful person is not able to commit a sin the holy name of Lord Hari cannot purify. As fire quickly burns a ball of cotton, so the holy name of Lord Hari quickly burns all the sins of person who knowingly or unknowingly chants. O best of brahmanas, a person who faithfully chants the holy name of Lord Hari gradually attains an eternal result. Satvata Tantra 7.1-13

Sri Siva said: "O brahmana, a person devoted to chanting the holy name becomes free from all of Kali-yuga’s sins and goes to the realm of Lord Visnu. Therefore, a person who without offense once chants the holy name crosses the ocean of repeated birth and death. O brahmana, of this there is no doubt."-Satvata Tantra 7.24-25

Shiva said: "When one attains devotional service that is beyond the modes of material nature, he does not think impersonal liberation very valuable. For him liberation is love for the Supreme Personality of Godhead."Satvata Tantra 4.22

Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu said: "At first My mind somehow achieved the treasure of Kṛṣṇa, but it again lost Him. Therefore it gave up My body and home because of lamentation and accepted the religious principles of a kāpālika-yogī. Then My mind went to Vṛndāvana with its disciples, My senses."- Caitanya Caritamrta, Antya 14.41

One should simply follow the instructions of the Lord and His empowered servants. their instructions are all good for us, and any intelligent person will perform them as instructed. however, one should guard against trying to imitate their actions. One should not try to drink the ocean of poison in imitation of Lord Siva."-Srimad Bhagavatam 10.33.30-31

With a pure heart one should see Me, the supreme soul within all beings and also within oneself, to be both unblemished by anything material and also present everywhere, both externally and internally, just like the omnipresent sky Srimad Bhagavatam 11.29.12

Guruji TOTAGOPINATH Das SURYASURAM

just as the Ganga is greatest among rivers Lord Acyuta is greatest among deities Lord Shiva is greatest among Vaishnavas similarly, this is the greatest among Puranas."-Srimad Bhagavatam 12.13.16

Lord Kṛṣṇa’s garland had been crushed during His conjugal dalliance with the gopis and colored vermilion by the kuṅkuma powder on their breasts. To dispel the fatigue of the gopis, Kṛṣṇa entered the water of the Yamuna, followed swiftly by bees who were singing like the best of the Gandharvas. He appeared like a lordly elephant entering the water to relax in the company of his consorts. Indeed, the Lord had transgressed all worldly and Vedic morality just as a powerful elephant might break the dikes in a paddy field. Srimad Bhagavatam 10.33.22

Lord Krishna says: For one who sees Me everywhere and sees everything in Me, I am never lost, nor is he ever lost to Me. Bhagavad Gita 6.30

Lord Krishna says One who sees the Supersoul accompanying the individual soul in all bodies, and who understands that neither the soul nor the Supersoul within the destructible body is ever destroyed, actually sees. One who sees the Supersoul equally present everywhere, in every living being, does not degrade himself by his mind. Thus he approaches the transcendental destination- Bhagavad Gita 13.28-29

A person is said to be established in self-realization and is called a yogi when he is fully satisfied by virtue of acquired knowledge and realization. Such a person is situated in transcendence and is self-controlled. He sees everything—whether it be pebbles, stones or gold—as the same. A person is said to be still further advanced when he regards all—the honest well-wisher, friends and enemies, the envious, the pious, the sinner and those who are indifferent and impartial—with an equal mind."-Bhagavad Gita 6.8-9

Param Guru Anil Ram Aghori with GuruJi TOTAGOPINATH Das Suryasuram

"The humble sage, by virtue of true knowledge, sees with equal vision a learned and gentle brahmana, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater."Bhagavad Gita 5.18

Lord Krishna says: I am all-devouring death, and I am the generating principle of all that is yet to be. Among women I am fame, fortune, fine speech, memory, intelligence, steadfastness and patience. - Bhagavad Gita 10.34.

Persons who direct their lust, anger, fear, protective affection, feeling of impersonal oneness or friendship toward Lord Hari are sure to become absorbed in thought of Him. Srimad Bhagavatam 10.29.15

Although the duality of the material world does not ultimately exist, the conditioned soul experiences it as real under the influence of his own conditioned intelligence. This imaginary experience of a world separate from Kṛṣṇa can be compared to the acts of dreaming and desiring. When the conditioned soul dreams at night of something desirable or horrible, or when he daydreams of what he would like to have or avoid, he creates a reality that has no existence beyond his own imagination. The tendency of the mind is to accept and reject various activities based on sense gratification. Therefore an intelligent person should control the mind, restricting it from the illusion of seeing things separate from Kṛṣṇa, and when the mind is thus controlled he will experience actual fearlessness. An intelligent person who has controlled his mind and conquered fear should give up all attachment to material objects such as wife, family and nation and should wander freely without embarrassment, hearing and chanting the holy names of the Lord, the bearer of the chariot wheel. The holy names of Kṛṣṇa are all-auspicious because they describe His transcendental birth and activities, which He performs within this world for the salvation of the conditioned souls. Thus the holy names of the Lord are sung throughout the world. By chanting the holy name of the Supreme Lord, one comes to the stage of love of Godhead. Then the devotee is fixed in his vow as an eternal servant of the Lord, and he gradually becomes very much attached to a particular name and form of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. As his heart melts with ecstatic love, he laughs very loudly or cries or shouts. Sometimes he sings and dances like a madman, for he is indifferent to public opinion. A devotee should not see anything as being separate from the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa. Ether, fire, air, water, earth, the sun and other luminaries, all living beings, the directions, trees and other plants, the rivers and oceans — whatever a devotee experiences he should consider to be an expansion of Kṛṣṇa. Thus seeing everything that exists within creation as the body of the Supreme Lord, Hari, the devotee should offer his sincere respects to the entire expansion of the Lord’s body.- Srimad Bhagavatam 11.2.38-41

Thus when all a man’s activities are dedicated to the service of the Lord, those very activities which caused his perpetual bondage become the destroyer of the tree of work.- Srimad Bhagavatam 1.5.34

When Lord Rishabhadeva saw that the general populace was very antagonistic to His execution of mystic yoga, He accepted the behavior of a python in order to counteract their opposition. Thus He stayed in one place and lay down. While lying down, He ate and drank, and He passed stool and urine and rolled in it. Indeed, He smeared His whole body with His own stool and urine so that opposing elements might not come and disturb Him. Because Lord Rishabhadeva remained in that condition, the public did not disturb Him, but no bad aroma emanated from His stool and urine. Quite the contrary, His stool and urine were so aromatic that they filled eighty miles of the countryside with a pleasant fragrance. In this way Lord Rishabhadeva followed the behavior of cows, deer and crows. Sometimes He moved or walked, and sometimes He sat down in one place. Sometimes He lay down, behaving exactly like cows, deer and crows. In that way, He ate, drank, passed stool and urine and cheated the people in this way.O King Pariksit, just to show all the yogis the mystic process, Lord Rishabhadeva, the plenary expansion of Lord Kṛṣṇa, performed wonderful activities. Actually He was the master of liberation and was fully absorbed in transcendental bliss, which increased a thousandfold. Lord Kṛṣṇa, Vasudeva, the son of Vasudeva, is the original source of Lord Rishabhadeva. There is no difference in Their constitution, and consequently Lord Rishabhadeva awakened the loving symptoms of crying, laughing and shivering. He was always absorbed in transcendental love. Due to this, all mystic powers automatically approached Him, such as the ability to travel in outer space at the speed of mind, to appear and disappear, to enter the bodies of others, and to see things far, far away. Although He could do all this, He did not exercise these powers.- Srimad Bhagavatam 5.5.32-35

Sukadeva Goswami said: O King Pariksit, the topmost transcendentalists, who are above the regulative principles and restrictions, take pleasure in describing the glories of the Lord.- Srimad Bhagavatam 2.1.7

Through the grace of God alone, the desire for nonduality arises in wise men to save them from great fear.- Avadhuta Gita 1.1

Lord Shiva said unto Goddess Uma:"One who for half a month diligently worships the Omnipresent Supreme Lord Visnu is the best of men. He is wise. He is a great devotee of Lord Visnu. Of this there is no doubt.”- Skanda Purana

I salute my Guru’s feet, whose greatness is unimaginable and beyond any description, they have a pinkish splendour and are awe-inspiring, their significance is beyond any logic and they are mighty in their pre-eminence. I bow to the sustainer of the universe, the great Brahman (Vishnu), whose form, even if He assumes many forms, cannot be confined only to a particular one and who is above all attributes.- Skanda Purana, Guru Gita

Shiva said: Oh brahmana, a person devoted to chanting the holy name becomes free from all of Kali-yuga’s sins and goes to the realm of Lord Vishnu. Therefore, a person who without offense once chants the holy name crosses the ocean of repeated birth and death.Oh brahmana, of this there is no doubt.- Satvata Tantra 7.24-25

Seeing an Aughar is like having a temporary appearance of Shiva. Aughars are not only fair but also objective. In their greatness they agree to have social relationships with everyone. They don’t have the aptitude to classify just like the sun, the moon, the fire and the earth. The Aughar (Aghori) who has achieved the stage of fairness acts for the good of everyone.- Sri Aghoreshwar Bhagwan Ram

We don't need external ostentation to please God. The method of worshipping or pleasing the Ishta, the divinity dearest to one's heart is kept confidential. Your Ishta is hungry for the Atma-bhava the thinking of yourself in the image of the supreme soul and desires only the flowering of your beautiful heart. - Aghoreshwar Baba Bhagavan Ram

We perform our meditation, our mantra recitation and our pure thought processes, and we refine these continuously by keeping our senses quiet and our mind focused. We do this to gain this state which has no profit and no loss. It is a state beyond considerations of profit and loss and it can be achieved within ourselves. - Aghoreshwar Baba Bhagavan Ram

Lord Krishna said: O brilliant Uddhava, one who thus views all living entities with the idea that I am present within each of them, and who by taking shelter of this divine knowledge offers due respect to everyone, is considered actually wise. Such a man sees equally the brahmana and the outcaste, the thief and the charitable promoter of brahminical culture, the sun and the tiny sparks of fire, the gentle and the cruel. For him who constantly meditates upon My presence within all persons, the bad tendencies of rivalry, envy and abusiveness, along with false ego, are very quickly destroyed. Disregarding the ridicule of one’s companions, one should give up the bodily conception and its accompanying embarrassment. One should offer obeisances before all, even the dogs, outcastes, cows and asses, falling flat upon the ground like a rod.- Srimad Bhagavatam 11.29.13-16

Lord Krishna said: Whenever one develops faith in Me, in My form as the Deity or in other bona fide manifestations, one should worship Me in that form. I certainly exist both within all created beings and also separately in My original form, since I am the Supreme Soul of all.- Srimad Bhagavatam 11.27.48

Lord Krishna said: One who has transcended material good and evil automatically acts in accordance with religious injunctions and avoids forbidden activities. The self-realized person does this spontaneously, like an innocent child, and not because he is thinking in terms of material good and evil. One who is the kind well-wisher of all living beings, who is peaceful and firmly fixed in knowledge and realization, sees Me within all things. Such a person never again falls down into the cycle of birth and death.- Srimad Bhagavatam 11.7.11-12

Lord Krishna said: Although most wise, the paramahamsa should enjoy life like a child, oblivious to honor and dishonor; although most expert, he should behave like a stunted, incompetent person, although most learned, he should speak like an insane person; and although a scholar learned in Vedic regulations, he should behave in an unrestricted manner.- Srimad Bhagavatam 11.18.29

Lord Krishna said: One who has transcended material good and evil automatically acts in accordance with religious injunctions and avoids forbidden activities. Such a person never again falls down into the cycle of birth and death.- Srimad Bhagavatam 11.7.11-12

Lord Rishabhadeva was the head of all kings and emperors within this universe, but assuming the dress and language of an avadhuta, He acted as if dull and materially bound. Consequently no one could observe His divine opulence. He adopted this behavior just to teach yogis how to give up the body. Nonetheless, He maintained His original position as a plenary expansion of Lord Vasudeva, Kṛṣṇa. Remaining always in that state, He gave up His pastimes as Lord Rishabhadeva within the material world. If, following in the footsteps of Lord Rishabhadeva, one can give up his subtle body, there is no chance that one will accept a material body again. Actually Lord Rishabhadeva had no material body, but due to yoga-maya He considered His body material, and therefore, because He played like an ordinary human being, He gave up the mentality of identifying with it. Following this principle, He began to wander all over the world. While traveling, He came to the province of Karnata in south India and passed through Konka, Venka and Kutaka. He had no plan to travel this way, but He arrived near Kutakacala and entered a forest there. He placed stones within His mouth and began to wander through the forest, naked and with His hair disheveled like a madman. While He was wandering about, a wild forest fire began. This fire was caused by the friction of bamboos, which were being blown by the wind. In that fire, the entire forest near Kutakacala and the body of Lord Rishabhadeva were burnt to ashes- Srimad Bhagavatam 5.6.6-8

The self-realized person does this spontaneously, like an innocent child, and not because he is thinking in terms of material good and evil. Narada said: "O Brāhmaṇa Vyāsadeva, it is decided by the learned that the best remedial measure for removing all troubles and miseries is to dedicate one’s activities to the service of the supreme Lord personality of Godhead. O good soul, does not a thing, applied therapeutically, cure a disease which was caused by that very same thing? Thus when all a man’s activities are dedicated to the service of the Lord, those very activities which caused his perpetual bondage become the destroyer of the tree of work."-Srimad Bhagavatam 1.5.32-34

The Supreme Personality of Godhead is situated as the Supersoul within the cores of the hearts of all living entities, whether moving or nonmoving, including men, birds, animals, trees and, indeed, all living entities. Therefore you should consider every body a residence or temple of the Lord. By such vision you will satisfy the Lord. - Srimad Bhagavatam 6.4.13

Lord Narasimha said: My dear Prahlada, King of the Daityas, because of being attached to devotional service to Me, My devotee does not distinguish between lower and higher living entities. In all respects, he is never jealous of anyone.- Srimad Bhagavatam 7.10.20

Lord Shiva said: Anyone who is surrendered to the supreme personality of Godhead Vasudeva, who is the controller of everything, material nature as well as the living entity is very dear to me. One who is situated in his divine duty properly for one hundred births becomes qualified to have the post of Brahma, and if he becomes more qualified he can approach Me. A person who is surrendered to the supreme personality of Godhead without deviation is certainly promoted to the spiritual planets. The demigods and Myself attain these planets after the destruction of this material world.- Srimad Bhagavat Maha Purana 4.24.28-29

Lord Shiva said: My dear beautiful Parvati, have you seen the greatness of the Vaishnavas? Being servants of the servants of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Hari, they are great souls and are not interested in any kind of material happiness. Devotees solely engaged in the devotional service of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Narayana, never fear any condition of life. For them the heavenly planets, liberation and the hellish planets are all the same, for such devotees are interested only in the service of the Lord. Because of the actions of the Supreme Lord’s external energy, the living entities are conditioned in contact with material bodies. The dualities of happiness and distress, birth and death, curses and favors, are natural by-products of this contact in the material world. As one mistakenly considers a flower garland to be a snake or experiences happiness and distress in a dream, so, in the material world, by a lack of careful consideration, we differentiate between happiness and distress, considering one good and the other bad. Persons engaged in devotional service to Lord Vasudeva, Kṛṣṇa, have naturally perfect knowledge and detachment from this material world. Therefore such devotees are not interested in the so-called happiness or so-called distress of this world.- Srimad Bhagavat Maha Purana 6.17.27-31

Lord Kapila said: A devotee should always try to hear about spiritual matters and should always utilize his time in chanting the holy name of the Lord. His behavior should always be straightforward and simple, and although he is not envious but friendly to everyone, he should avoid the company of persons who are not spiritually advanced. When one is fully qualified with all these transcendental attributes and his consciousness is thus completely purified, he is immediately attracted simply by hearing My name or hearing of My transcendental quality. As the chariot of air carries an aroma from its source and immediately catches the sense of smell, similarly, one who constantly engages in devotional service, can catch the Supreme Soul, who is equally present everywhere. I am present in every living entity as the Supersoul. If someone neglects or disregards that Supersoul everywhere and engages himself in the worship of the Deity in the temple, that is simply imitation. One who worships the Deity of Godhead in the temples but does not know that the Supreme Lord, as Paramatma, is situated in every living entity’s heart, must be in ignorance and is compared to one who offers oblations into ashes. One who offers Me respect but is envious of the bodies of others and is therefore a separatist never attains peace of mind, because of his inimical behavior towards other living entities. My dear mother, even if he worships with proper rituals and paraphernalia, a person who is ignorant of My presence in all living entities never pleases Me by the worship of My Deities in the temple. Performing his prescribed duties, one should worship the Deity of the Supreme Personality of Godhead until one realizes My presence in his own heart and in the hearts of other living entities as well. As the blazing fire of death, I cause great fear to whoever makes the least discrimination between himself and other living entities because of a differential outlook. Therefore, through charitable gifts and attention, as well as through friendly behavior and by viewing all to be alike, one should propitiate Me, who abide in all creatures as their very Self.- Srimad Bhagavat Maha Purana 3.29.18-27

In accordance with the particular nature one has acquired in conditioned life, whatever one does with body, words, mind, senses, intelligence or purified consciousness one should offer to the Supreme, thinking, “This is for the pleasure of Lord Narayana.” Fear arises when a living entity misidentifies himself as the material body because of absorption in the external, illusory energy of the Lord. When the living entity thus turns away from the Supreme Lord, he also forgets his own constitutional position as a servant of the Lord. This bewildering, fearful condition is effected by the potency for illusion, called maya. Therefore, an intelligent person should engage unflinchingly in the unalloyed devotional service of the Lord, under the guidance of a bona fide spiritual master, whom he should accept as his worshipable deity and as his very life and soul. Srimad Bhagavat Maha Purana 11.2.36-37

Therefore, bringing all your senses under control and thus subduing the mind, you should see the entire world as situated within the self, who is expanded everywhere, and you should also see this individual self within Me, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.- Srimad Bhagavat Maha Purana 11.7.9

The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: Yes, I shall describe to you the principles of devotion to Me, by executing which a mortal human being will conquer unconquerable death. Always remembering Me, one should perform all his duties for Me without becoming impetuous. With mind and intelligence offered to Me, one should fix his mind in attraction to My devotional service. One should take shelter of holy places where My saintly devotees reside, and one should be guided by the exemplary activities of My devotees, who appear among the demigods, demons and human beings. Either alone or in public gatherings, with singing, dancing and other exhibitions of royal opulence, one should arrange to celebrate those holy days, ceremonies and festivals set aside specially for My worship. With a pure heart one should see Me, the Supreme Soul within all beings and also within oneself, to be both unblemished by anything material and also present everywhere, both externally and internally, just like the omnipresent sky.O brilliant Uddhava, one who thus views all living entities with the idea that I am present within each of them, and who by taking shelter of this divine knowledge offers due respect to everyone, is considered actually wise. Until one has fully developed the ability to see Me within all living beings, one must continue to worship Me by this process with the activities of his speech, mind and body.By such transcendental knowledge of the all-pervading Personality of Godhead, one is able to see the Absolute Truth everywhere. Freed thus from all doubts, one gives up fruitive activities. Indeed, I consider this process — using one’s mind, words and bodily functions for realizing Me within all living beings — to be the best possible method of spiritual enlightenment. My dear Uddhava, because I have personally established it, this process of devotional service unto Me is transcendental and free from any material motivation. Certainly a devotee never suffers even the slightest loss by adopting this process. O Uddhava, greatest of saints, in a dangerous situation an ordinary person cries, becomes fearful and laments, although such useless emotions do not change the situation. But activities offered to Me without personal motivation, even if they are externally useless, amount to the actual process of religion. This process is the supreme intelligence of the intelligent and the cleverness of the most clever, for by following it one can in this very life make use of the temporary and unreal to achieve Me, the eternal reality.- Srimad Bhagavat Maha Purana 11.29.8-22

Lord Krishna says: With a pure heart one should see Me, the supreme soul within all beings and also within oneself, to be both unblemished by anything material and also present everywhere, both externally and internally, just like the omnipresent sky.- Srimad Bhagavat Maha Purana 11.29.12

Anyone, even a person in an impure state, who absorbs his mind in Him for just a moment at the time of death burns up all traces of sinful reactions and immediately attains the supreme transcendental destination in a pure, spiritual form as effulgent as the sun. You two have rendered exceptional loving service to Him, Lord Narayana, the supersoul of all and the cause of all existence, the great soul who, although the original cause of everything, has a humanlike form.
